The Global Wellness Day social project takes place in more than 100 countries simultaneously by dedicating a day to ‘live well’ and promotes a balanced lifestyle around the globe. Celebrated on the second Saturday of June every year, Eden Roc Cap Cana is thrilled to host the country’s official celebration for the third year in a row – with complimentary activities open to the public including zumba, yoga, pilates, dance, ballet and hiking, in addition to special workshops related to nutrition, breath work, art, mindfulness and more. 

The one day celebration, with activities for the whole family, is meant to showcase a healthy lifestyle and hobbies that can help eliminate stress from everyday life. Eden Roc Cap Cana , the only Relais & Châteaux property in the Dominican Republic, is pleased to welcome The Little Nell to Punta Cana, for a series of curated culinary experiences from May 11-14, 2022.

Matt Zubrod, Culinary Director of The Little Nell, will bring intimate, cosmopolitan dining style all the way from Aspen, Colorado in collaboration with Eden Roc Executive Chef Adriano Venturini for a culinary journey that combines the best of both properties.

Chef Adriano Venturini leads the diverse culinary program that has put Eden Roc Cap Cana on the map as a celebrated gastronomic destination, where the various restaurants in the exclusive hotel offer unique and curated menus that come to life with the settings, each with unique décor. individual.

The experience will be enhanced by an unparalleled setting, from the iconic Mediterranean haute cuisine restaurant, to the festive La Palapa over the water and the BLUE Bar & Grill open all day.

“Our award-winning Wagyu beef is a favorite item in my kitchen and I will be incorporating it into dishes during my visit. The Little Nell is also known for its artfully curated food, wine and service, which I am excited to share with Eden Roc guests."

Chef Zubrod's professional history includes working at luxury resorts in Aspen, Boston, Naples and California, as well as in Hawaii, where he opened two properties as executive chef.

He takes a creative approach to cooking, harnessing regional ingredients with an insight for what guests may be craving at each destination and continually innovating new ways to prepare unique cuisine.

For this special culinary program, three different dining experiences will be offered, each with a selected menu at the property's elegant Mediterranean-style restaurants: La Palapa, Mediterráneo and AZUL Bar & Grill. Chef Zubrod and Chef Venturini will conclude the program with a collaborative American-style brunch.

The schedule: from Wednesday, May 11 to Saturday, May 14
Starting Wednesday the 11th, Chef Zubrod will recreate several signature dishes from The Little Nell for guests to enjoy at their leisure, available a la carte for lunch at La Palapa and for dinner at Mediterráneo.

Eden Roc Cap Cana has a diverse culinary program helmed by Chef Venturini, with various restaurants onsite each with their own distinctive personality that is celebrated through striking décor and unique curated menus. From the property’s signature fine-dining restaurant Mediterraneo to the convivial beachside La Palapa and all-day BLUE Bar & Grill, each experience is complemented by an unparalleled setting that will be activated through this partnership.

The Point is an 11-room all-inclusive Relais & Châteaux resort in the Adirondacks in New York. Originally built as a Great Camp for William Avery Rockefeller II, The Point offers guest an intimate “house party” atmosphere complete with communal wine-paired dinners, daily cocktail parties and self-service bars sprinkled throughout the property. The Point comes to Eden Roc Cap Cana in April while their own kitchen undergoes a long-awaited renovation that will be unveiled this summer. The historic kitchen has served The Point since the 1930s and its new design will enhance the creativity of Chef Loïc Leperlier and his team, while preserving beloved amenities such as a vintage General Electric refrigerator from 1932. With the redesign underway, Chef Leperlier will be bringing The Point’s culinary heritage to Eden Roc Cap Cana’s tables, and this will be the only opportunity to experience a taste of The Point while the property undergoes these kitchen updates.

His style of cooking combines French cuisine with his Réunion roots accented by Indian, African and Chinese influences, all of which he will bring to the plates of Eden Roc Cap Cana.

This lavish mix of events is designed to encourage guests to indulge in The Point’s iconic culinary offerings as they please, whether it be the decadent nightly experiences or a day-time casual meal. After years of a closely connected professional relationship and friendship, Chefs Leperlier and Venturini are thrilled to come together for four days of spectacular dining beside the waves and beneath the stars, a long-time dream finally realized at Eden Roc Cap Cana.

The April program consists of four evenings with curated menus spread across the property’s elegant, Mediterranean-reminiscent restaurants — La Palapa, BLUE Bar & Gril, and Mediterraneo. The program will end in a spectacular dinner and wine event where Chef Leperlier and Chef Venturini serve up their best dishes in a collaborative menu.

The program schedule includes the following:

  • Wednesday, April 6: The chef residency will kick off with a private, romantic dinner on the pristine shoreline. Chef Leperlier will prepare a special private menu with premium wine pairing that will be set up on the beach | From 7:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, April 7: Enjoy The Point’s signature family-style BBQ on the pool deck and outdoor terrace at BLUE Bar & Grill. The menu will include Point-style fried chicken, smoked brisket, whole fish, beef chili, onion rings, truffle mac and cheese and more. | From 7:00 p.m.
  • Friday, April 8: Chef Leperlier brings The Point’s famed communal dining set up to the BLUE Bar & Grill for a private group (up to 16 guests). Guests dining will have a front row seat to the festivities, as Chef serves up the four-course menu in a unique way as he takes over the open demo kitchen at the restaurant. | From 7 p.m. | Maximum 16 Guests
  • Saturday, April 9: Join us for the final night at Mediterraneo, where a special food and wine event awaits, featuring a collaborative four-hands dinner by Chef Leperlier and Chef Venturini, including a premium wine pairing menu. Featured dishes will include prawn bisque “cappuccino,” kataifi wrapped lamb loin with babaganoush, dukkha, morels, heirloom carrots and cumin jus and roasted pineapple with tres leches ice cream and cake. | From 7 p.m.

Eden Roc Cap Cana Launches Their Culinary Series With Zaranda – A Two Michelin Dinning Experience

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC (February 2022) — The Caribbean’s most prized boutique hotel, Eden Roc Cap Cana, will be initiating their Culinary Event series elevating their dining experience with the best chef’s era and merging culinary flavors from corners of the world. 

Eden Roc Cap Cana will collaborate with Zaranda, a Two Michelin Stars restaurant in Mallorca, Spain. Headline it by awarded executive Chef Fernando Arellano, which will bring their creating cooking and classic Mediterranean recipes to the Caribbean.

The menu combines Chef’s Arellano innovating dishes with our Chef’s Director Adriano Venturini’s local Caribbean flair.

Our Signature Restaurant La Palapa will be showcasing this event from March 3rd to March 6th, finalizing the tour with a special menu and wine pairing at Blue Restaurant.

Fernando Arellano will make his signature dishes from Zaranda restaurant, integrating them into our menu as specials every day until Saturday at La Palapa Restaurant.

About Fernando Arellano:

Fernando Pérez Arellano, born in Madrid, has developed most of his professional working in different countries. In addition to perfecting his skills in the kitchen, he became a polyglot. After having gone through some of the best cuisines in Europe such as “Patrick Guilbaud” (Dublin), “Le Gavroche” (London), “Don Alfonso 1890” (Naples), “Maison Pic” (Valencia, France), and “Can Fabes” (Barcelona) Fernando acquired the necessary experience to carry out his project. In September 2005, he opened the doors of Zaranda, a small and modest restaurant in Madrid’s San Bernardino Street. 11 months after its opening, Zaranda received its first star in the Michelin Guide. 

Five years later, Zaranda and his entire team faced a new challenge and moved their project to Mallorca, where Fernando has found the perfect place to develop his creativity. In November 2015, Zaranda was awarded its second Michelin start being since then the only restaurant on the island to hold the award.
