For travelers looking for a unique Thanksgiving experience, travel booking experts recommend setting your sights abroad.
According to a new report from booking site Going.com, due to a major increase in passengers traveling domestically during the holiday, international airfares are often discounted,
“It’s a feast-time domestically and a famine-time internationally. What do airlines do to fill all those planes flying to Paris and Cancún and Barcelona? Simple: slash the fare,” Going.com Founder Scott Keyes says in the report.
The report advises that although travelers can get deals over Thanksgiving week, fares begin to rise in Mid-December as the Christmas and New Year’s holidays see a higher volume of international travelers.
In the Dominican Republic, Eden Roc Cap Cana will be hosting both a traditional Thanksgiving Dinner, as well as a Thanksgiving BBQ under the stars. Guests will also have the opportunity to participate in a Turkey Treasure Hunt, and other special activities.
